How to play Word Search
Word search is one of the most relaxing puzzles there is. Calm Word Search uses large, clear letters, friendly everyday words, and no timer.
The goal
Find every word in the list. The words are hidden in the grid of letters in straight lines.
Selecting a word
There are two ways, so use whichever feels easier:
- Slide your finger (or mouse) from the first letter of the word to the last letter.
- Or tap the first letter, then tap the last letter.
When you find a word, it is colored in the grid and crossed off the list.
Easy and Medium
- Easy: words run only to the right or downward.
- Medium: the grid is bigger and words can also run on a slant.
Themes
Each puzzle has a theme with plain, familiar words. There are 24 themes, including In the Garden, In the Kitchen, Birds, Weather, Flowers, Baking Day, Farm Life, At the Beach, Music, Family, Holidays and Around the House.
Helpful buttons
- Hint circles the first letter of a word you have not found yet.
- Undo takes back your last find.
- New starts a fresh puzzle.
- Your puzzle saves itself, and there is a new daily puzzle every day.
Your first puzzle
If you are new to word searches, start on Easy. Read the word list once, pick a word with an unusual letter, and look for that letter in the grid. When you find it, check the letter to its right and the letter below it — on Easy, every word starts going one of those two ways. Found words stay colored, so you can always see what is left. There is no score to worry about, and nothing happens if you take a long time.
A new puzzle every day
Each day brings a fresh daily puzzle, and a small calendar shows the days you have played. It is a pleasant way to build a gentle daily habit.
